Shooting 9 under par on the first round, Jesper Lundmark (SWE) and David Feldberg (USA) took the lead in European Open 2009 on Thursday. Finnish Arttu Sikanen and Danish Karl Johan Nybo tied on the third place, only one stroke behind.

In women’s division, Carrie Burl Berlogar shot a stunning 2 under par, a score which would take her to the tied 26th place in the men’s division, together with World Champions Avery Jenkins and Nate Doss, among others.

Clouds were hanging low over Epilä Disc Golf Park, but the rain stayed away as 111 players were doing their best on the course to make it to a later tee time for Friday’s second round. The competition is tight after the first day, and no one shot a score under 50 – yet. That is, anything can happen during Friday and Saturday before the cut for Sunday’s final round can be declared.

The second round starts on Friday at 9:00 AM.
