29.08.2009 - 2nd Round: Lundmark and Swärd shoot 50, Feldberg also in top 3

Perhaps it was the President’s Cup defeat on Wednesday that made the Europeans step up their game in European Open. After the second round of the competition on Friday, the leaderboard is dominated by European names. Jesper Lundmark and Anders Swärd from Sweden both shot 50, ten under par, and the junior-aged German sensation Simon Lizotte was only one shot behind with 51. USA’s David Feldberg still shot a solid 52 and is on second place.

Burl Berlogar is still leading in the women’s division, with Finnish Anne Matilainen on second place right before Valarie Jenkins on the third place.

The perfect weather conditions in Tampere on Friday made it possible for the players shoot even more convincing rounds on the second day of  the competition. The weather forecast says rain for Tampere for Saturday, which will very likely make the competition even more interesting.
