29.08.2009 - 3rd Round: Climo reaches Lundmark and Feldberg with course record, 48
Ken Climo shot a new Epilä course record, 48, on the third round of European Open. With a sensational round, he climbed up the leaderboard to make it to the first card for Sunday’s final. Climo is accompanied by David Feldberg, who also shot below 50, as well as Sweden’s Jesper Lundmark and German Simon Lizotte.Feldberg was excited to make the Sunday final again a battle between the best players of Europe and America. Lundmark was confident that Europe has what it takes to beat USA this time.
Climo was not the only American to make a move up, as Nate Doss shot a 51 and made it to the second card, together with Finnish Timo Pursio, and Swedes Hasse Tegebäck and Anders Swärd.
In the women’s division, Valarie Jenkins made it to the top of the leaderboard past Finnish Anne Matilainen. Burl Berlogar and Jenkins are tied at six over par.
The final round starts at 10:00 on Sunday, and the last three groups tee off with twenty-minute intervals starting at 13:00. Make sure to follow the hole-by-hole scoring of the final!
