30.08.2009 - Lundmark and Jenkins are European Open Champions 2009!
Jesper Lundmark (SWE) is the new European Open Champion in men's division. Valarie Jenkins (USA) is the new women's European Open Champion.
After excellent play during all four rounds of the European Open 2009, Jesper Lundmark won the tournament with a five-stroke margin to Ken Climo (USA) and Timo Pursio (FIN). Climo and Pursio battled for the second place in a sudden death competition, and Climo took home victory after two holes.
Valarie Jenkins had a tight competition with Carrie Burl Berlogar (USA) and Finnish Anne Matilainen, but eventually Jenkins made it to the top by only a one-stroke margin to Berlogar and three strokes to Matilainen.
The final round of European Open was played in sunny and windy conditions, with a record-breaking audience following the last groups of the day.
