Qualification standards

All current, dues-paid members of the Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) are eligible to compete in the 2009 European Open. PDGA membership is required to participate in qualifying events.

Registration will open 1st of March and players are accepted into the tournament with following criteria:

 

a) Reserved spots

1. 2009 PDGA EuroPro players
All 2009 PDGA EuroPro players have a reserved place in the event. This place is guaranteed until April 30th, 2009 only. If player fails to meet the registration deadline, qualifying is possible only through On-site Qualifying.

2. 2009 PDGA touring card holders
All 2009 PDGA Touring Pro card holders have a reserved place in the event. This place is guaranteed until April 30th, 2009 only. If player fails to meet registration deadline, qualifying is possible only through On-site Qualifying.

3. US players
There is a special 30 player quota in European Open, reserved to US players. This quota will be filled as follows: 
• Touring card holder registers by April 3oth, 2009
• First registered, first paid -basis (open to all US players from May 31th, 2009) 

4. Japan players
There is a special 5 player quota in European Open, reserved to Japan players. representatives are chosen by The Japan Players Disc Golf Association (JPDGA). 


b) Other available Spots

Registration will also open 1st of March to all current (2009 dues paid) PDGA pro members with player rating of 950+ (Men, including Masters) and 850+ (Women). This is first registered, first paid -basis.

1st of May Registration will open to all current (2009 dues paid) PDGA pro members with player rating of 900+ (Men, including Masters) and 800+ (Women). This is first registered, first paid -basis.


c) Other qualifying methods

On-site Qualifying
Individual qualifying rounds will be held at European Open course on Monday, August 24th. These 2 rounds are open to anyone who registered and participated in a European Open qualifying tournament. Non PDGA members may participate in qualifying rounds, but current PDGA membership is required to compete in the tournament. Tournament organizer will publish the number of Saturday qualifying spots later here. Qualifying tournament fee is 10 EUR

Special invitations
Tournament organizer reserves the right to select players based on his/her playing record and/or their contribution to the game. 

Excemptions
Exempt positions are quaranteed until May 31th, 2009. If player fails to meet registration deadline, qualifying is possible only through On-site Qualifying.

 

Entry fee

An entry fee of 100 euros shall be paid by every player. Players registration is complete only after payment. All tournament spots will be filled on a first paid first served basis. Payment information will be announced when registration officially opens.
