Amateur Open 2020 Venue: Tampere Disc Golf Center

The Tampere Disc Golf Center was established only two years ago old but it’s already a renown course and the main destination for disc golfers coming to the Pirkanmaa area. The "Center" was designed to meet the standards of the top level competitive disc golf and to be the arena where battles for the most coveted titles in disc golf take place.

Currently the Center has 23 permanent holes that can mixed and combined for a variety of different layouts. Another great thing about the Center venue is that the layouts can be switched relatively easily - even between tournament rounds! We decided to make use of this opportunity and offer all European Amateur Open participants a chance to decide what kind of layout they want to play. The event participants can vote for the layout they want to play in August. The most popular layouts of each pool will be played in the event! Instructions on how to vote have been sent to all event participants by email.

The two layouts that the event participants can choose from are introduced below.

Championship layout

The Championship layout is currently the most challenging setup that the Tampere Disc Golf Center offers. This one is also familiar from the Grand Opening of the course. The par 64 course stretches over 3034 meters of park grounds and woods. This layout is tough as nails and will put every disc golfer’s skills to a serious test. After all that's what it's designed for.

Club layout

While the Club layout isn’t quite as daunting as the Championship layout of the ”Center” it still presents tons of challenges. At par 61 and 2701 meters total length still brings the average length for a hole to just over 150 meters. That’s a lot of golf but it does offer a bit more breathing room since there are less par 4 holes and less wooded holes.

Check your email if you're attending the European Amateur Open 2020 in August and cast your vote! Voting ends on June 30th and the pool specific layout will be published on July 1st.
