European Open 2021 Cancelled

The European Open won’t be held in 2021. After a difficult spring full of uncertainty and much debate the event organization came to the conclusion that the current COVID-19 situation in Finland and globally doesn’t allow the event to be organized this season. The international travel limitations, quarantines, limitations on gatherings, and other restrictions required to curb the spread of the virus have too severe effect on the event.

The next European Open will be the celebratory 10th edition of the PDGA Major event. The event organization aims to develop the event on the strong foundations that have been built since 2006. The current conditions would diminish the event to a shadow of itself.

The 10th time European Open is planned to be held in July 2022. The event organization is positive about the PDGA Major event returning in its full glory and extent next year.

European Amateur Open 2021 Cancelled

The European Amateur Open 2021 is cancelled for the same reasons as the European Open. The Amateur Open aims to be a similar internationally recognized high quality event, which is not possible in these volatile circumstances. The Amateur Open will be held in July 2022 in conjunction with the Major event.
