Team USA takes down their 11th Presidents Cup!

This year the battle between Team USA and Team Europe was the closest we've ever seen. The competition started off extremely even, and after the first round Team Europe was leading Team USA 14½ - 13½.

Isaac Robinson, who was the Captain's Choice, started off strong and played the first nine holes well, finishing with an impressive 6 strokes under par. Team Europe's best performance was Øyvind Jarnes' -3 total score.

In the women's card, Team Europe won with a total 5-2 against Team USA, when Kristin Tattar finished first in the group, and Henna Blomroos third.

Match Play offered excitement until the very end

The second round offered excitement even for the last throws. In the second to last group, Väinö Mäkelä evened up the scores against Chris Dickerson on the last hole, by taking an awesome birdie and thus keeping Team Europe still in the game.

In the last group, Paul McBeth and Lauri Lehtinen was the last pair competing for the win. If Lehtinen were to win the last hole, Team Europe would get to celebrate their first ever win at the Presidents Cup. Lehtinen unfortunately threw OB off the tee and Paul McBeth played the hole safely for par and managed to secure the victory for Team USA.

Team USA won the Match Play round with scores 13½ - 10½ and won with total scores of 27-25. The battle was history's closest, since earlier Team Europe has always fell at least 3 points short of Team USA.
